Varis eyed Kiryll from his seat at the bar of this new venue for them. It was Kiryll’s memory of the establishment he frequented in Tulliyolal, a sea-facing tavern that served as a place to hook up.

The pools were usually churning with muscular travelers cruising to have a good time, but Kiryll was not interested in having strangers there tonight and the sunset was getting increasingly beautiful.

“So this is what you wanted me to see? It’s beautiful. Thank you for being with me here.”

Varis had adapted a new way of speaking that refered to his clients as the director of their experience. His curse was to personally attend every single person who wanted to see him, friend or foe, and the magic Emet-Selch bestowed upon him allowed Varis’s client to choose which place to visualize talking to him in. He took great care to make sure respect and consent was followed, ever the gentleman, regardless of the company he was forced to keep.

He noticed the healthy tone Kiryll imagined him in as well, still himself, but he felt much more healthy and hydrated. It felt decadent and Kiryll was indulging his desire to be at ease.

“I love you. I missed you.” He said, getting up and taking Kiryll into his arms. They kissed passionately, as if both of them were catching up from not being able to breathe.

Kiryll pushed him onto the bed, and all of a sudden, they were in his bedroom. Kiryll could do this very well. Might be his Echo. He got on top of him and proceeded to try to navigate below his torso, but Varis rolled him over and got on his knees first.

He always wanted to hear Kiryll’s songs for him first. It drove his own hunger forward, and left him more satisfied when it was his turn. Selfish service top brat behavior. Kiryll never called him out on it for fear that he would one day lose the sight of the absolutely divine faces he made when he came.

After the bulk of the action had commenced, they curled up next to each other, kissing each other as if they were smitten schoolyard lovers.

“How old do you suppose you are now?” Kiryll asked whistfully.

“Since the beginning? I’ve lost count. Perhaps 100 or 500.”

“Yet you still remember me.”

“And you still remember me.” Varis smirked. He’d flip his cape if he had it, but he was outfitted in some kind of a yellow floral tunic with a white tank top with white slacks. He wasn’t sure if this was meant to be insulting to him or not, because it was comfortable.

Kiryll himself was in a bright magenta short sleeved crop-top jacket and a pthalo green dancer’s sash and leggings topped off with his usual Ishgardian high house heels. He was always in heels, no matter what. The law didn’t exist here, except that Kiryll always wore high heels because he could.

“This is a calmer version of what I look out at every day at that bar. I pretend to drink more than I do just to be safe, but I…have an itch that’s beginning to scratch much more insistently and satisfying that itch helps me a lot.”

“No judgements, but it is good to see you remain your concerned, good-hearted self.”

Kiryll smiled sadly and Varis came up and gave him a hug, giving Kiryll ample chance to rest his head between Varis’s bosom. Thinking about it would drive him to go on living. “Thank you, darling…!” He cried into his chest, the words muffled but audible enough that Varis was given cause to smile.

“I missed you a great deal. Did you do something to enhance your butt? It’s…just a bit bigger than I remembered.”

“Oh that? Stress-eating over details over a tedious job I’ve taken on to busy myself and see the world. I’ve bitten off more than I can chew again.”

“If it’s just something you do to busy yourself, you can take a few steps back.

“It’s also something I mostly like doing.”

Varis shook his head. “Please forgive me, my love, do you want to speak what’s on your mind?”

“Someone I thought liked my work, liked our company’s work, is pulling funding for our project in an amount I can’t supplant on my own. It’s almost like they don’t want us to discover what they hired us to discover, and I suppose that amounted to more midnight snacking. I hope it’s all right.”

“Kiryll, you’ve seen who else I’ve dated, you are still the smallest person to ever approach me thus. Now with more ass, which I consider to be a winfall, but do take a breather from the stress?”

“Hmm hmm, why do you think I’m here, darling?”

They kissed, the only ones at this usually crowded bar, and ended up tousling in the water, the only people on this private beach.

“You bounce more like this, I like it a lot.”

“I should chide your perversion, but I’m benefiting from it, so I’ll stuff it for later.”
